Visiting Dallas – Family & The Cowboys

We started off Day 3 with just over an hour drive to the Texas border. They say everything is bigger in Texas. Well, that definitely includes the travel maps. Haha!

We also quickly learned that Texas thunderstorms are nothing to mess with either! This is what a good portion of today’s drive looked like.

Thankfully the storms passed fairly quickly and we were able to make it to our first destination in Frisco, Texas – the Dude Perfect Headquarters.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to see any of the Dude Perfect guys, but the boys still thought it was neat to see the outside of their Headquarters.

We then made the short drive south, to meet up with my cousin Brad, his wife Chris, and their two boys Alex and Brady. They graciously allowed us to stay with them for a couple nights while we explored the Dallas area!!

This also gave us a much needed evening of fun and relaxation!!!

The following morning we drove back to Frisco for our tour of The Star.

The Star is a 91 acre campus that hosts the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and is also their practice facility.

There is a really neat astroturf area just outside the facility where anyone can come and play.

Our tour lasted about an hour and 15 minutes and covered SOOO much!! We learned about everything from the history of the Cowboys to how the team currently operates!

Our personal favorite stops on the tour included the War Room, Film Room, Practice Field, and seeing the Super Bowl Trophies!!

They also let me hold a press conference, but obviously the questions weren’t very good! Haha!

While we were in Frisco, we drove a few miles north to the PGA of America Frisco Headquarters and did some putting on The Dance Floor. It is an enormous putting green that has multiple 18 hole courses to choose from! It was a little toasty out, but we still had fun!

Later that afternoon, Brad gave us a tour of the ABC station in Dallas where he works. We were all blown away by how smoothly everything operated!!

We enjoyed seeing the news room, control room, and the studio where the live news was being broadcasted!

That evening Brad and I went to the Dallas Stars playoff game. Shannon and the boys hung around the house with their cousins. We all had a blast!!

On our last morning in Dallas, we said goodbye to the Dallas Ramseys and went to tour AT&T Stadium.

The stadium is absolutely HUGE!!! We’ve been to many stadiums, but nothing compares to the scale of AT&T Stadium! The tour was incredible and was something we will never forget!

We were not able to go on the field because they were preparing for some international soccer games. All 3 of our boys said their favorite part of the tour was getting to go in the Cowboys locker room!

Next up is another new state for all of us – Oklahoma!!
