It’s hard for me to believe, but we are only 8 days away from actually taking another summer road trip. We were poised and ready for a trip during the summer of 2020, but I think we all know what that summer was like. We didn’t feel like things were opened back up enough for a trip during the summer of 2021.
So here we are.
Summer of 2022.
We’re actually going to make this happen!!
I think the thing we are most concerned about at this point are the crazy high gas prices. We’re still holding out hope that prices will drop a little at some point during our trip. Even if they don’t, we’re all in!
This is going to be another 5-weeker!! We won’t make it all the way to the west coast (that will be for another summer), but we will spend some time in the pacific time zone.
Our main focus for this trip will be the northern Rocky Mountains. We will spend time in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and the Dakotas. Here’s a rough estimate of our route:
A good portion of our time will be spent in several of our country’s most well known national parks. We will visit the Badlands, Theodore Roosevelt, Glaciar, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Rocky Mountain National Parks.
Our boys are definitely talking more about their excitement for this trip than some of our previous summer vacations. They are three years older and more aware of some of the amazing things we will get to see and experience.
We will share some more information soon about our preparations and how we are packing for this 5 week road trip!!
